First of all we started real late. We were headed to HI but TJ said the waves were horrible in Crystal beach so that wasn't a good idea. Decided to go to Surfside to see if we could find some protected water but I asked Andie (my little girl) where she wanted to go and she said MATAGORDA. Haven't been there in a while so I decided why not. Went to check out the jetties and the waves were constantly breaking over them real violent looking. Decided to fish the mouth but the current was bad and way too many people so we decided to see what we copuld find on the river. As we were driving I noticed a bunch of pelicans feeding so we decided to take a closer look. Anthony was the first to hook up with this nice 36" BU.


I then put out some crab claws on my small rod and after fifteen minutes of this


I land this 43" BU on 15# test.


More crab claws resulted in this 42" on light tackle.


Anthony then hooks onto this 42" beast.


After it got dark I hooked up with this 40" redfish.


Pricilla with her catch of the day which consisted of 3 drum up to 27".


In all we caught 10 BU from 36 to 43", a 40" bull red and three keeper drum. Most were caught on fresh crab and the keepers on shrimp.
